Hi, I’m Deba. Lover of all things family, fitness, wellness, self-care and REAL FOOD. I’m a health enthusiast & yoga instructor, and I have earned degrees in education and computer programming, along with graduate study and research in dietetics and nutrition. I’m incredibly honest and I always share what’s on my mind. A few of my favorite things on the planet: long bubble baths, a good yoga sesh, inspirational quotes, the smell of coffee brewing, sunsets on the beach and chocolate chip cookies straight out of the oven. Growing up, we rarely had refined sugar or sweets in the house. I remember eating cereal at a friend’s house one morning after a sleepover and being in awe of how she added spoonfuls of sugar to her cereal! After I got married and became a mom, I started to eat anything I wanted. I was a candy fanatic, drank soda every day and ate out at restaurants on the regular. I kept an active lifestyle and the scale told me exactly what I wanted to see, but I still didn’t feel good inside. When Tim, Trevor and I went on vacation a few years ago, I felt so tired. That’s when I knew something had to change. That’s when I decided to make my health a priority.

I used my newfound inspiration to learn more about the ingredients in our foods, how they are grown and what chemicals are used in their production. I also started to research about the mental and physical benefits of yoga, weight lifting, resistance training and wellness. The more I learned and the more I put these lessons into my daily lifestyle, the better I felt. I wanted to tell everyone about it and that’s why I decided to start my blog and Instagram account. My followers are my friends. I love encouraging them and showing them that working out, cooking meals with organic ingredients and living a non-toxic lifestyle can be fun. Being fit and eating good food is what makes me feel alive and everyone deserves to feel strong, confident and happy.

Listen to your body and give it what it needs – from nutritious foods and awesome workouts to sleeping in and having a lazy day. Do not compare yourself to others, and do it for the right reasons and not just to look a certain way. Eat all the foods you love in moderation, but read ingredients and know what’s REALLY in your food. Most importantly, don’t think about next week, next month or next year. Just focus on the 24 hours in front of you and do whatever you need to do to get closer to where you want to be. Get up every morning and tell yourself, “I can do this!” Think SMART. Eat WELL. Move MORE. Your future self will thank you for it.
